Our trip began as a relaxing Amtrak
ride from Seattle to Whitefish, Montana. We chose sleepers--reminiscent
of our barge staterooms, only smaller and not as hot. Nevertheless, warm
by most standards. It wasn't the Ritz, but beat sleeping upright. |

We stayed in a condo in the Big Mountain Village, but took
a day trip to the Izaak Walton
Inn in Essex, where we enjoyed the lobby... |
