Gary

Retired:"to withdraw from office, business, or active life, usually because of age"

Who? Gary? Not so you'd notice.

Oh sure, he collects Social Security and leaving the house at 6:00 am is now "optional." But withdrawn from active life? Not on your life!

He's an avid leader and organizer, likes keeping up with current events--even writes his own " State of the Union" message, likes analyzing data and developing goals and plans, enjoys competition, and loves his wife and family. Puget Sound will be his final resting place--provided he ever rests.

Rotary is a big part of Gary's life. He was President of the Gig Harbor Rotary Club in 2005-06 and is currently Assistant Governor for the seven Tacoma and Gig Harbor clubs. He has been in Rotary (Tacoma 8 and Gig Harbor) for nearly twenty years.

He uses his organization skills to help his and other clubs. He is proud of his involvement in service projects, especially the Gig Harbor Cushman Trail and Skansie Park Pavilion. He and Linda traveled to Japan, Guatemala and Chicago for Rotary projects and conventions.

Bowling--Gary returned to competitive senior bowling in 1996, about the time he sold his business. Since then he had seven perfect 300 games, a 824 series, was a member of the Tacoma Senior All-Star Team six times and won two senior singles scratch tournaments.

Family Business--Gary sold his business, Norcore Plastics in 1997. Over 19 years he built it to $10 million in sales with 80 employees, but it was time to move on. Since then he built apartment buildings in downtown Tacoma, but sold them in 2002. He still manages the Industrial buildings in the Tacoma Industrial area and purchased and operates Millville Marina, a small, 25-slip marina in Gig Harbor.

He still does some management consulting (CERA--Cost Effective Realistic Advice) and oversees stock and bond investment portfolios and does all of his own accounting and taxes.
