Gig Harbor

Gig Harbor faces many challenges due to general growth in the Pacific Northwest and because the Harbor is particularly pretty.

Most residents endeavor to preserve the balance of the delicate eco-system, and the quality of life unique to small town America. A long and bitter battle finally convinced Wal*Mart not to build a huge store here. But most developers continue to ignore the transportation, education and water issues that threaten our community.

We have two organizations here, the Peninsula Neighborhood Association (PNA) and the Peninsula Heritage Land Trust that do their best to help.
