Investment Clubs and NAIC

I belong to an investment club which started in 1990. In the past ten years our portfolio has performed quite nicely. We even got a little publicity back in January 1996: (sorry some of the article is cut-off...it is simply too big for my scanner.) Click on the thumbnails for full-size image.

...naturally my 'best quote' is cut-off.

"It's very important for women to get involved in the finances," said Makos before Glein jumped in to finish the thought.

"After all, we live longer and inherit all the money, : Glein said.

(I don't remember saying that, but I don't doubt that I did!)

Our membership is now about 15 women, which is a comfortable size. Between the club, and our personal portfolio, we follow:

I use Stock Analyst when I prepare the computer generated Stock Selection Guides for our group, and  Prospector and the NAIC ® S&P/Compustat ® Data Files when searching for new investment opportunities. I used to participate on the Investorama discussion boards as a volunteer. That site is gone now, but I sure enjoyed it.
