Art by Chris
He has his own place on Capital Hill, and a wonderful girlfriend named Jessica. Chris worked on the animation project featured during the Computer Science Department graduation ceremony. It is Table for Two, created in the Capstone Design Course. The presentation on the the CS department website is awfully tiny and you really should see it full size. His portion is the colorful pastel with the girl, the sparkler and the bees. Chris graduated from Gig Harbor High School in 1999. At graduation he was honored with the Science Department Faculty Award. Music, Art, Science and Computers are all important to him. He taught himself the guitar, took piano lessons and is planning on learning to play the violin. Chris began drawing in earnest when we were confined to a 24' travel
trailer during the winter months of 1986-97 while we were building the house. Both Peter and Chris
wanted Transformers, the hot toy of the time. When we refused to buy them, they worked out
their frustration by drawing thousands of Transformers. While in grade school, Chris won
some money--about ten dollars, I think--in a Transportation Art Contest. His most recent
major piece was based on M. C. Escher's style and features Escher himself. What is the
picture about? Chris says that is for you to decide. While in high school he won $35 for this logo which took third place in the Gig Harbor/Peninsula Cultural Arts Commission design-a-logo contest. Although the prize money has increased, I think it was better that he kept studying science and computers. This is my son's artwork. Please do not copy it.
